Zoe-perry
Perry was born July 25, 1968 in Chicago in Illinois. She was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. She made her first appearances on television in the role of Jackie Harris, a character which was played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. Fearing stress, her parents didn't want to see the actress pursue acting until turning 18. Perry acknowledged that she was not at ease in the stage during high school, but started acting to meet new people during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, moved in New York in search of TV roles. Her small part was in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness drove her to California in search of theater jobs. The Other Place was performed by her and her mother in 2013 on Broadway in 2013. In 2015, she performed with her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on the ABC drama The Family. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's political thriller Scandal in which her father was the main character. That same year she appeared as a younger model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a younger version. She was cast in the role despite having a close family connection to the character.
