Zoe-perry

Perry is the child of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of the two shows she starred in on Roseanne. Because of their fear of stress, the parents didn't want to see her pursue acting before she turned 18. Perry, who was too shy for acting in high school, started to act in theater classes at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new friends. After graduating Perry relocated to New York to search for television work landing small roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought the actress back to California which is where she discovered theatre jobs. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry appeared in nine episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. Her father played her character in The ABC show Scandal. She was also cast in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. She got the part in an audition that was open despite being connected to the role.
